Tテイラー・モートンにフランチャイズタグを付けました。あとは長期契約に至るのか、それともタグのまま1年プレーするのか、ですね。

ちゃっかり確実に

Panthers are bringing back veteran long snapper J.J. Jansen on a one-year deal, per a league source.

Jansen has been the team’s snapper since 2009 and hasn’t had a bad snap since 2010.

FAとなるロングスナッパーのJ.J.ジャンセンと1年の再契約をするそうです。地味だけど大事なポジション、今年もよろしく。

今年のサラリーキャップは

Last year’s cap: $198.2 million.

This year’s cap: $182.5 million.

予定通り下がりました。その結果、

Matt Rhule says Christian McCaffrey and Shaq Thompson just restructured their contracts to give the Panthers more money vs. the salary cap.

RBクリスチャン・マキャーフリーとLBシャック・トンプソンの年俸が下げられることになりました。仕方ないけど、なんか申し訳ない気持ちになる。

新GMスコット・フィタラーはFAについて、初日から積極的に動かない姿勢を示しています。昨年は初っ端面食らい軽く動揺しましたから、今年はまったりスタートというのも悪くないでしょう。情報戦という側面は絶対あると思うので、信用はしていません。

また下方修正によりキャップスペースに余裕の無いチームの中堅選手が多くリリースされるとの見方が強く、そういった選手たちをコスパ良く狙って行くそうです。さすが元シーホークス所属、ずる賢いというか効率が良いというか。
